Who we are
This website belongs to The Eight Eighteen Hotel Limited, trading as The 818 Hotel, on the Gilgil–Nyahururu Road, Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, Kenya. We decide how the personal information you give us is used. You can reach us at info@the818hotel.com or +254 111 818 809.
What we collect
This website has no accounts, no online payments and no forms that store your details. When you use a button such as Check Availability, Request a Quote or WhatsApp, a message opens in WhatsApp for you to send; we receive only what you choose to send. The same applies when you call or email us.
From an enquiry or a booking we may hold your name, phone number, email address, the dates and details of your stay, event or order, and anything else you tell us. When you stay with us we also keep the guest records that hotels in Kenya are required to keep.
How we use it
- to answer your enquiry and plan your stay, meeting, event or catering;
- to confirm, manage and charge for your booking;
- to meet our legal duties, including guest registration, tax and accounting records.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use this website to show you advertising.
Services from other companies
Some parts of this website are provided by other companies, which may receive technical details such as your IP address under their own privacy policies:
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website, protects it from attacks and counts visits without cookies.
- WhatsApp (Meta), when you send us a message.
- Google Maps, for the maps on our contact and Explore pages and for directions.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Google maps on our contact and Explore pages set their own cookies, so they load only after you accept cookies or tap Show map. Our Cookie Policy lists them and explains how to change your choice.
How long we keep it
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, or as long as the law requires.
Your rights
Under Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019, you may ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, or to stop using it. Write to info@the818hotel.com. If you are unhappy with our answer you may complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (odpc.go.ke).
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top.
