About these terms
These terms apply to this website and to enquiries, bookings and stays with The Eight Eighteen Hotel Limited, trading as The 818 Hotel, Gilgil–Nyahururu Road, Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County, Kenya. By using the website or booking with us you accept them. We may update them from time to time; the date above shows the latest version.
Who may book
You must be at least 18 years old to make a booking, and you may book for other people only if they have agreed. We may decline or cancel a booking that appears to be false or fraudulent.
Enquiries and bookings
This website does not take bookings or payments. You make an enquiry by phone, WhatsApp or email, and a booking is confirmed only when our reservations team confirms it to you. A booking is secured with a 50% deposit; companies may book with a Local Purchase Order (LPO).
Payments
We accept cash, card, M-Pesa, bank transfer and company cheques.
Payments are non-refundable. Once you have paid for a stay, meeting, event or catering order, the payment cannot be refunded.
Children and extra beds
Children aged 3 and under stay free. Children aged 4 to 12 pay 50% of the adult rate when they share their parents' room, or 75% in a room of their own. An extra bed costs KSh 1,000.
During your stay
- Check-in is from 12:00, and check-out is by 11:00.
- Please show your national ID or passport at check-in.
- Food and drinks from outside the hotel may be taken only in your room.
- Guests are charged for damage, missing items or spoiled linen in their room.
- The 818 is a smoke-free hotel.
- Pets are not allowed.
- Please tell our reservations team about any accessibility needs when you book.
Meetings and events
Please confirm the final number of guests one day before your meeting or event.
Information on this website
We work to keep everything on this website accurate, but room rates, packages, menus, opening hours and services can change, and the information is given as it stands, without any promise that it is complete or free of errors. The details that apply to you are the ones our team confirms when you book.
Day trips and other places
The Explore pages are a guide to places near the hotel. Those places are run by others, such as the Kenya Wildlife Service, the Kenya Forest Service, county governments and private conservancies, who set their own fees, hours and rules. Distances are approximate. Please check with the place itself before you travel; our reception is happy to help you plan.
Other companies and websites
Some services are provided by other companies, such as WhatsApp, Google Maps and the places in our day-trip guide, and we link to other websites for your convenience. They work independently of us under their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or services.
Photos, logos and text
The photos, text and design of this website belong to The 818 Hotel unless stated otherwise. Award logos belong to the organisations that gave the awards, and photos of places to visit belong to the owners credited on those pages. Please ask us before reusing any of it.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of this website or from relying on its information. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under Kenyan law.
Complaints, disputes and law
If something goes wrong, please contact us first so we can put it right. These terms are governed by the laws of Kenya.
