Lake Nakuru National Park
A fenced sanctuary around a Rift Valley soda lake, home to black and white rhino, Rothschild's giraffe and more than 450 bird species. Baboon Cliff gives the classic view over the lake; Makalia Falls lies in the south.
Flamingo numbers rise and fall with the lake level. The rising lake flooded the old Main Gate, and Lanet Gate is the entrance nearest the hotel. The lake is part of the UNESCO Kenya Lake System.
