Subukia Shrine
Kenya's national Marian shrine, on a hillside above the Rift Valley, consecrated in 1991 and cared for by Franciscan friars. A spring found that year now flows into three pools beside a chapel.
A 14‑station Way of the Cross climbs to the spring, and the Subukia viewpoint on the road there looks deep into the Rift Valley. Tens of thousands come for the National Prayer Day in early October.
